The Spacious Life Part 1

"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

July 1st, 2024

Dear friends,

Well, the time has finally come. It's the last week in our home here in Denver. All these months of packing boxes, selling furniture, and saying goodbye to this life come to a timely end this Sunday. And just in time, too, as the construction of the hi-rise building across the alley from us will be eye-level with us (on the 6th floor) by the time we hand in our keys.

It's surreal to envision my life away from this place I've been very lucky to call home for the last 12 years, the longest I have ever lived anywhere. It's been tough to say goodbye to my things and farewell to my plants. The prayer garden on my patio has been a special place where God has continually met me. For those who have ever attended a Selah Sunset event or patio party, you know that these urban views of God's creation are hard to beat.

Saying goodbye is hard. That is why I am so grateful to all of you, my brothers and sisters in Christ, that this isn't goodbye but merely "see you soon." Whether we meet again for an online event, attending a Loto retreat somewhere around the world, when I come back to Colorado to visit, or in Heaven, I know we will see each other again.

Dismantling my life here in Denver has been challenging (if this were easy, more people would be doing it). And while I am very excited for what is to come, I am still very much grieving this change. I know that Sunday will be a rollercoaster of emotions as we drive away from this home one final time, and I'm looking forward to that being the last of this moving process.

As this stage ends, we launch into the next. Those who have joined The Collective 🪷 community on Facebook or WhatsApp will see my prayer request for God's divine timing over Scott's American citizenship. We can't leave the country until that process is completed, so while we wait, we will be living in beautiful Salida, Colorado, over the summer. We've planned some fun weekend trips in the high country, and I'm excited to begin sharing those travel stories with you.
