Looking Ahead to 2025

¡Saludos desde el desierto!

So much of what has occupied my time and attention this last month has been looking ahead to what's coming down the pipeline for 2025. New and exciting things are in the works for Loto Wellness Collective.

To begin with, we've revamped our Loto Gives initiative. As a company, we will continue to tithe 10% of our profits and donate our services to ministries across the globe. Starting in 2025, we are going to make it easy for The Collective, that's YOU, to worship God through generosity to a variety of well-deserving organizations.

For every issue of Loto Living magazine you purchase, every paid audio guide you download, and every event you attend, we will donate a portion of the proceeds to one of our 2025 nonprofit and ministry partners. You will be hearing more about these organizations throughout the year, and you can also learn about them here.

In addition, God and I have been planning and preparing for new Loto programming that we're really excited about

Winter Envisioning

Especially in America, our hustle culture glorifies busyness, and burnout is the badge of honor we carry for trying to be all things to all people. I should know; I've been in and out of burnout for over a decade, and in the process, I've learned a thing or two about the wisdom of living with the seasons.

When everyone is making performance-based New Year's resolutions, in the northern hemisphere, nature is quietly resting and preserving energy for springtime growth. Observing the seasons teaches us a lot about how God works.

This is why the Winter Envisioning digital vision board workshop is focused on restful resolutions and envisioning a year of living in tune with the wisdom of nature. It's time to release ourselves from post-holiday overwhelm and learn the value of a restful new year. I hope you will join me. Learn more about the event and our nonprofit partner, This is Jane Project.

#lotocreates

I first experienced the power of art as therapy when I was working at This is Jane Project, developing programming for their community of women and non-binary trauma survivors to heal. To this day, the online HEARTs (healing arts) program is one of the best attended.

During my time at the cabin this summer, painting naked in the woods, God planted the seed in my heart to develop a creative worship event series for Loto. The Holy Spirit spoke so loudly, telling me to create a space for The Collective to worship God through their creativity. More details to come, including an introduction to our program partner, Transforming Creatives.

#lotoreads

One of my restful resolutions from 2024 was to read more, and this is one of those I can happily check off, saying, "Job well done." With an internal hunger for learning, and especially since I've been in Mexico, I have been voraciously reading a wide variety of books, most of them non-fiction.

Especially after the tough year most of us faced, learning the art of slowing down has never been more critical. The first selection for the new book club is The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer. If you are new to him and his writing, you are in for a treat.

Those of us who attended Denver United Church at any point in 2024 are already well acquainted with his Practicing the Way materials. I'm excited to dig deep into the topic of "hurry" and the unseen ways it has infiltrated every aspect of our instant gratification lives. Let's wrestle with this together. Join me.

With so much on the horizon to look forward to, I will end this letter reminding myself and you that amidst the busyness of this holiday season, one of the best gifts we can offer ourselves and our loved ones is to be present in the here and now, not focused on what is still to come.

In the wise words of Jesus, don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself (Matthew 6:24).

With love,

Jennifer

Reflection question: How do you currently practice generosity in your own life? In what ways might God be inviting you to deepen this practice in 2025?
